The Craftsman Magazine
The Magazine Of
THE CORPS OF ROYAL ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERS
and The REME Association
The first REME magazine was published after the end of hostilities, in January 1946. Since then it has flourished into the monthly publication known throughout the Corps ‘family’.
At present the print run is just over 7000, peaking in October 1992 when it was 8500, this of course reflects the results of defence cuts. The readership is estimated to be over 20,000 because of the way the magazine is distributed; copies go to all units with REME soldiers on strength, Institution members, subscribers and various organisations, such as our Allied Corps overseas, engineering institutions, potential officers and many more. In fact at the last count the magazine reached over 30 countries.
We welcome articles including photographs, from any serving or former member, of any rank, who has a story to tell.
As well as featuring a wide and varied cross section of REME news we also include a monthly ‘Where Are You Now?’ column for those wishing to contact friends from the past and publicise forthcoming reunions.
Subscription is available at £24.00 UK and £30.00 Overseas Surface Mail (Air Mail rates available on request).
