The REME Museum of Technology exists to preserve material and documents relating to the Corps’ history and to make the collections available for display, or research.

The Corps Archives 

 

Within the Museum are the Corps Archives, consisting of the Documentary Archives, Technical Archives and Pictorial Archives; these Archives hold a wealth of information on all aspects of the Corps history – for example: historical documents leading to the formation of the Corps in 1942; the birth of the Corps; REME in World War 2; post-War development and evolution; the higher management of the Corps and structural changes to meet the needs of the modern Army; insurgency type operations; recent ongoing operations; training; equipment and technical manuals; and photographs.     

 

The Corps Archives acts as a custodian of our memories to inspire, inform and even enjoy.  It is a resource that enables us to unlock a world of information and provides a unique picture of our past.  Examples of items held in the Corps Archives are shown below:
