There is a large, free car park adjacent to the Museum.
From Wokingham - Take the A329 westwards from the town centre, in the direction of Reading. Shortly after leaving the town centre, turn left at the mini roundabout and take the B3349, signposted Arborfield. Proceed over the level crossing at the station and carry straight on for approximately 3 miles. When you see the Garrison on the left, take the next turning (Biggs Lane) to the left, signposted Arborfield Garrison and REME Museum. Turn left at the mini roundabout after approximately ½ mile and turn immediately right into the Museum car park.
From Reading - Take the A327, Aldershot Road out of Reading. After approximately 5 miles, the road passes through the village of Arborfield Cross. Proceed through the village, past the sign for the 40 mph zone to a roundabout. Turn left (first exit) and after 200 yards, turn right into Biggs Lane, signposted Arborfield Garrison and REME Museum. Turn left at the mini roundabout after approximately ½ mile and turn immediately right into the Museum car park.
From the A30/M3 - Take the A327 north from the A30, signposted Wokingham. If travelling towards London, the turning is on the left just after the end of a dual carriageway. If travelling away from London, the turning is on the right after Blackbushe Airport. Proceed for approximately 5 miles along the A327. At the second roundabout, turn right (second exit) and then, after a further 200 yards, turn right again into Biggs Lane, signposted Arborfield Garrison and REME Museum. Turn left at the mini roundabout after approximately ½ mile and turn immediately right into the Museum car park.
From Crowthorne/Bracknell Area - Take the Nine Mile Ride (B3430), heading west. Follow the road until the T junction at the end. Turn right into Park Lane, which shortly becomes Biggs Lane, and follow this road into the Garrison. Approximately 1½ miles from the end of Nine Mile Ride, turn right at the mini roundabout and turn immediately right into the Museum car park.
The nearest railway station is at Wokingham. This is located on the line from Waterloo to Reading and takes approximately 1 hour from Waterloo and 15 minutes from Reading. Buses run from Wokingham and Reading Stations to the Garrison, as detailed below. Taxis are also available from Wokingham Station at a cost of approximately £6 each way.
Bus Service 144 passes the museum and is run by Thames Travel. The timetable is available online or the company can be contacted on 01491 837988. During the day, buses run twice an hour from Reading (Railway Station) and once an hour from Wokingham (Town Centre and Railway Station), Monday to Saturday (there is no service on Sundays). From Wokingham Town Centre they generally run at 28 minutes past the hour and from Reading Railway Station they generally run at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour. Buses are wheelchair-accessible.
