The Museum displays illustrate 50 years
of developing technology and REME's contribution to enduring engineering
excellence and society.
Beginning with a video to introduce REME's history, there is a description of its command structure and displays on military and trade training. Each succeeding cameo display illustrates a REME trade set in the decade in which it was particularly significant. Quiz sheets and trails guide are available to entertain children throughout the museum.
The Vehicle Exhibition Hall (Prince Philip Hall) houses a selection

AUXILIARY TERRITORIAL SERVICE (ATS)An ATS coach trimmer in a REME workshop. This trade made and repaired canvas

The ATS were initially all volunteers but were later conscripted. They were mainly clerks, cooks and drivers but 20,000 served in technical roles, most with REME. Their pay was 2/3 of the male soldier's rate. Despite their intended non-combatant roles, over 1100 members of the ATS were killed in action. |

MEDAL ROOMThe Museum has created a Medal Room to show its complete collection of medals awarded to REME officers and soldiers. It also has a new interactive touch screen display. |

The Medal Room also holds memorial items, including the Corps' Book of Remembrance listing the names of REME officers and soldiers who died in active service. The displays include items from the Army Chaplain's department. |
