Education is a core function of the Museum. We have a vibrant and evolving service with proactive and responsive staff. We have hands-on interactive workshops and activity sessions to suit the needs of your group.

We welcome all visitors to the Museum. The activity sessions, workshops, mini tours and handling collections we provide can be adapted to meet the specific needs of your group. The Museum is on the ground floor except for a helicopter viewing platform and a balcony. There are two wheelchair accessible toilets. Disabled Parking, and a ramp up to the entrance from the car park. Guide dogs are welcome.

Free pre-visit for schools
To make the best use of our Education Service, teachers and group leaders are invited to book a free pre-visit where they can familiarise themselves with the facilities and discuss their requirements. Call our Education Officer on 0118 976 3254 or email education@rememuseum.org.uk to arrange a visit.
We will need the following information when you book:
- Your name, telephone number, address and/or email address
- Name of school or organisation
- Proposed date(s) of your visit
- Service (eg KS 2 History Workshop)
- Estimated number in group
- Age range
- Arrival time
- Departure time
- Any special requirements
- Available dates and times for a free pre-visit (if applicable)
Teacher information
- Health and Safety: Please download and read our Health and Safety document: pdf version : Word version
- Discipline: Pupils remain the responsibility of the teacher and adult helpers whilst in the Museum
- We do not charge for extra teachers/helpers so please feel free to bring as many as you can
- When you arrive, make your way to the Museum's school group entrance
- (white building with glass doors to your left and set back as you drive through the car park)
- Do not head for the brown or green buildings
- Toilets are not available in the Vehicle Exhibition Hall - We recommend arriving 15 minutes early and using the toilets before the workshop starts
- Bring a camera to record your pupils' visit - We have no restrictions on photography in the Museum
- The Museum will provide clipboards and pencils for your group
- You can pay on the day or we can send you an invoice - Cheques should be made payable to 'REME Corps Account No.2'
