Wondering what to do this Summer Holidays? Need activities for when the weather isn't quite what you hoped?

Throughout summer, we have a range of activities available for all the family. All are included within your Museum entry ticket, details for session booking below.

Please note that workshop sessions should be attended in family groups with a minimum of 1 adult to 4 children.

Bottle Rocket Workshops

Drop-in sessions, every Tuesday

A bottle rocket attached to a pump ready to be fired.

Do you have what it takes? We challenge you to build a Bottle Rocket and see how high you can make it fly!

Sessions led by our Education Officer. No need to book, just drop-in to our Education Suite!

LEGO® Engineering Workshops

Pre-bookable sessions, every Wednesday

The hands of a child fixing blue LEGO bricks onto a LEGO car. A LEGO instruction manual is to the side.

Be an engineer for the day and get hands on with LEGO® to make your own moving vehicle! Recommended for ages 7 and above.

Sessions should be booked online in advance to avoid disappointment as we have limited space!

'Rocket-Powered' Workshops

Drop-in sessions, every Thursday

Soldiers standing around and one crouching next to an air pump, where a toy vehicle is moving away from.

These workshops have been tried and tested by REME soldiers themselves!

REME's talented engineers helped to develop the rocket powered Bloodhound LSR, which set new land speed records. Using specialist kit, provided by the Bloodhound team, explore how air can power a vehicle across the room. It is rocket science!

No booking necessary, drop-in sessions are led by our Education Officer, suitable for all ages and abilities.

Junk Tank Model Making

Drop-in sessions, every Friday

Children and parents around tables taking part in an activity. In front are two models made from junk materials.

One person's rubbish is another person's tank!

Come and create your own special REME-inspired vehicle to take away with you! Get creative and see what you can make from recycled materials.

No booking necessary, a drop-in session led by our Education Officer, suitable for all ages and artistic abilities.

Gnome Trail

Galleries, every day

Our popular-as-ever annual Gnome Trail is back with a new theme! Stay tuned to find out the theme and when you can take part!
