Big Red comes to BATUS

During my 6 months detachment to BATUS Recovery Section Feb - Aug 1985. I was fortunate enough to be the first Cfn Recy Mech to operate the new indigenous Red Western Star.
One photo shows the Western Star attending the first recovery task it performed on the prairie. The other was taken the first day it was allowed to be used after inspection and having Range Safety Equipment and comms fitted
