The REME Museum is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a VisitEngland Gold Accolade for 2022-23!

We can now proudly display our Gold Accolade logo and certificate. 

The VisitEngland Accolades are designed to celebrate excellence within the visitor attraction sector and showcase those businesses in the VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme that go the extra mile to provide a high-quality day out. This year, 91 attractions across England were awarded accolades in categories including ‘Hidden Gem,’ ‘Best Told Story,’ ‘Quality Food and Drink,’ ‘Welcome,’ as well as ‘Gold’ which recognises all round top scoring attractions. Of these attractions, just eight were from the South West of England and we are the only Wiltshire attraction to receive an award.

Since 2018, we have received the VisitEngland Hidden Gem Accolade four times, which celebrated our commitment to providing an excellent visitor experience. Being awarded the Gold Accolade this year demonstrates the hard work put in by our entire team of staff and volunteers, helping to improve our Museum year-on-year and ultimately produce the highest standards of visitor experience.

Of the award, Museum Director Major (Ret’d) Rick Henderson said:

“The whole REME Museum team have put in so much hard work and been committed to improving the visitor experience year on year. This award makes all the effort worthwhile. Rest assured we will not be resting on our laurels but looking to implement further additions to enhance the experience for next year.”
