Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical know-how helps REME soldiers keep the British Army's equipment in tip-top shape. Our STEM workshops feature practical, hands-on activities designed to build problem solving and communication skills as well as scientific knowledge.

Workshops are designed for Key Stages 1 through 3. We'll do our best to adapt any session for additional educational needs, different group sizes and alternative curriculums.

Visit our main Workshops page for more information and prices. Contact us to discuss our workshops or make a booking.

Tanks, Trucks and Transport

Inspired by our fantastic collection of military vehicles, your class will work in small groups to build their own model recovery vehicle with our easy to use STEM kits. Afterwards, pupils will test, improve and finally demonstrate their engineering work to the group.

Suitable for: Key Stage 1

Curriculum links: Science, Numeracy, Speaking and Listening and D&T.

There's lots of different tanks, trucks and aircraft to inspire your pupils.

LEGO® Engineering

Challenge your class to design, build and test motorised LEGO® vehicles with our technical, high-quality LEGO® engineering kits. Extend their learning with specialist hydraulic and solar power add-ons to power their creations.

Suitable for: Key Stage 2 and 3*

Curriculum links: D&T, Science, Numeracy, Speaking and Listening.

Creating LEGO® vehicles gets your class working as a team.

Meccano® Makes It

Get constructing with our class-size Meccano® sets. Your pupils will explore the skills REME Vehicle Mechanics use to design and maintain specialised vehicles. They’ll have a chance to build their own working model vehicle, combining problem solving and practical construction skills.

Suitable for: Key Stage 2 and 3*

Curriculum links: D&T, Numeracy and Science.
